Terms of Use
Draft — pending legal review. Last updated 27 July 2026.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the MyIndia Soundbox Android app or this website. By using them, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
2. What the app does
MyIndia Soundbox reads notifications posted by an approved list of payment applications on your phone and announces incoming payment amounts aloud, in a language you choose. It also keeps a list of the payments it announced so you can review your collections.
3. Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. Keep control of that number and of your phone; anyone with both can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.
You must be at least 18 years old and using the app in connection with a business.
4. What you agree not to do
- Use the app for anything unlawful, or to handle payments you are not entitled to.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or work around the security of the app or our servers.
- Use the app on a phone that is not yours, or announce another person's payments without their knowledge.
5. Your data
How your information is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In particular, please read the section on notification access before granting that permission.
6. What we do not guarantee
This matters more here than in most apps, so it is in plain words.
- The app depends on your phone receiving a notification from a payment app. If your phone has no network, if the payment app does not post a notification, or if Android stops the app to save battery, there will be no announcement.
- Payment apps change the wording of their notifications without telling anyone. When that happens, an amount may be read incorrectly or not announced until we publish a fix.
- An announcement is a convenience, not proof of payment.
7. The record that counts is your bank's
Never treat an announcement, or its absence, as the final word on whether you were paid. Your bank account and your UPI app are the authoritative record of any transaction. If an announcement and your bank disagree, your bank is right. We are not a payment service, we do not hold or move your money, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and your customer.
8. Availability and changes
We may update the app, change how features work, or suspend the service for maintenance. We may also change these terms; if we do, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account and data through Delete your account. We may suspend or end access to an account that breaks these terms.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for business losses arising from a missed, delayed or incorrect announcement. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
11. Third-party names
Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, MobiKwik, Android and Google Play are the property of their respective owners. They are named here only to describe what the app is compatible with. MyIndia Soundbox is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
12. Contact
